Student AffairsFuture Queen’s students are encouraged to submit the Financial Aid and Awards Profile. Through this single application, you will be considered automatically for many need and merit-based awards. Some of the programs which are administered through this application include the Ad91ÊÓƵ Bursary, Commitment Bursary, Major Access Award, many donor-funded need and merit-based awards, and the Promise Scholars program.
The Financial Aid and Awards Profile should be completed by incoming first year undergraduate students who are Canadian, permanent residents or protected persons. It can be found on your SOLUS Student Centre in the Financial Aid tile, under Online Award Applications for future students. Eligibility
Some awards may have additional eligibility requirements. Review the specific details for each award program to determine eligibility.
To be eligible for most ad91ÊÓƵ awards you must be:
- Entering the first year of post-secondary education for the first time in a full-time (minimum 60% course load) Queen's undergraduate degree program on Queen's campus or at Bader College (graduates from a 2-year CEGEP program transferring into their first year of a Queen's program remain eligible for grades-based ad91ÊÓƵ scholarships)
- Students with prior post-secondary education are not eligible for Queen's ad91ÊÓƵ awards
- Domestic (Canadian citizens, permanent residents) and international students (including U.S. students) will be considered for
- International and U.S. students should also visit the section for more information on additional ad91ÊÓƵ awards
- Queen's will calculate an awards average based on grades available at the time you are offered ad91ÊÓƵ
- Final grades will be assessed for scholarship and award consideration for those students who accept their offer of ad91ÊÓƵ to Queen's
- If you do not receive a scholarship offer at the time you were offered ad91ÊÓƵ, we will review your final grades after we have received final grade reports from the Ontario Universities Application Centre in July/August
- Summer courses taken in the summer immediately prior to your ad91ÊÓƵ term to the university will not be used in the assessment of your final grade average
Note: To receive and remain eligible to retain an ad91ÊÓƵ scholarship/award in the academic year granted, the student must be admitted and registered as a full-time student in the fall/winter academic year.
If you have been granted a renewable academic-based award, to remain eligible for renewal of the award you are expected to:
- Remain registered in an 80% course load (typically 24 units in fall/winter)
- Achieve a minimum G.P.A. of 3.5
Please note that not all academic-based awards are renewable, refer to the award terms on SOLUS or the Financial Aid and Awards website to confirm if your Queen’s award is renewable. Review the Queen’s Renewable Awards Policy for further details.
