Description:
A Team-based walking challenge where employees will hit collective distance goals and take on fun mini-challenges.
Details: What's the Challenge? Over two weeks, Queen's employees will track their walking (or wheeling) distance and complete fun walking activities to boost physical activity and team connection.
How to Participate:
- Register yourself for an individual challenge or a Team challenge
- Track your distance
- Use a phone, smartwatch, or fitness app (like Strava, pedometer, or your own method)
- Log your total walking/wheeling distance from May 5 to May 16
- Set a personal or team goal eg: 21 km-Frontenac Provincial Park, Slide Lake Loop
3. Complete the fun checklist activities
Upon registration you will receive the Activity Checklist, which includes
- 5-day and 10-day walking streaks
- ABC Walk (spot items starting with every letter)
- Scenic route stroll
- Speed walk session
- Explore a new route
4. Share your journey
- Share photos and updates via MS Teams (dsad@queensu.ca) or email. (thrive@queensu.ca)
- Submit your completed checklist and distance by May 17 to thrive@queensu.ca
Prizes & Incentives
Raffle prize entries based on:
- 1 entry for every 10 km walked and 1 entry for every 3 checklist items completed
Prizes include:
- 01 Water bottle, Wellness gear – Thrive Week goodie bag, and Bonus: Gift card from Amazon ($20)
Goal: Let's Walk the Lake! Can we collectively walk 1,020 km—the length of the Lake Ontario shoreline?
